WE ARE NOW CHICKEN EGG RANCHERS ....
Woo Hoo , On January 1, 2009 we got our first egg and on January 2, 2009 we got 3 more .... Our 5 chickens are making us proud! Only good things to look forward to for the new year! Are there any other Chicken Egg Ranchers out there?
We got 15 chickens back in August and it has been a blast. If you look on Our Simple Life I did a bunch of posts about them. They are under the humorous section. It all started with The Chicken House. We love the chickens and they are a never ending source of fun for us and our kids! You will love them! Congratulations.
Also one of the blogs I follow, Life on a Southern Farm has great chicken stuff too.
A friend of mine has a dozen of so chickens. She would sell eggs, and bring them in to work. They also have geese, ducks, cats and dogs, and are now practicing bee farmers! (for honey and money!)
We've got four hens, but only two are laying so far. We get a brown egg and a green egg almost every day. Wish the other two would start laying! It's fun gathering your own eggs, isn't it? ~Jenny~
I have about 23 chickens and 4 guineas. Love them all! Raising them for about two years now on our 3 acres. Free ranging and get enough eggs to sell some every couple of weeks! It has been such fun for me and the grandkids.
I also sell their feathers as they loose them. See the feathers at http://renewedresources.etsy.com

Also, would you be interested in participating in The Apron Goddesses?

Thats awesome! My gma used to raise chickens!
Yeah - I love the blog award from you guys! Cool button too!!
Awww, cuuute. I'm vegan, so I don't raise chickens (like my mom would let me raise chickens in the backyard anyway), but that's so cool!
I hope you REALLY like eggs, or plan to sell them! :D
Really cool, I would be interested in having a couple of chickens but I think the barn dogs would eat them (they eat anything)...
When we lived in Venezuela, hubby bought 500 chickens (we lived on a huge cattle ranch) and they died the next day. Oops.
Maybe we should stick to four-legged livestock? Ya think?
